Dear Members and Friends,

The focus of this letter is very much on the 37 British Ambassadors visiting Grafton Street in a fortnight to brief our members.

Here are the timings and brief details. It’s an impressive line up and a great opportunity for all Strategy International members (including The D Group, British Expertise International, The Future Group, Middle East Access Group) and other guests to make contact.

If you wish to contact us about any of these events or any specific regions, the key people are:

Africa – Derrick Sanyahumbi
MENA – Ruari Cahill
Central Asia and South Caucasus –  Alexandra Barnes
South and South-East Asia – Luisa Edves
Latin America and the Caribbean – Edward Thicknesse

Next week, aptly enough amongst all the international trade discussion that will doubtless be generated in vast quantities by all this activity, we also have one of our regular C-level / Board Brexit group meetings. Having heard from all quadrants, on this occasion it is the ‘leavers’ camp visiting us, with the influential Economists for Free trade Group (with advisors such as James Dyson and Jacob Rees-Mogg) setting out its analysis of the economic upsides of and rationale for a Brexit with no customs union.

Whatever form it eventually takes, there are technological issues facing UK business that have profound ramifications regardless of Brexit. Among them are the challenges and opportunities posed by digitisation. Atos’s UK CEO Adrian Gregory gives his views on this subject on 16th May at 6.30pm.

Warm regards,
