East Africa is amongst the most promising economic regions in Africa, and is starting to make significant headway on a number of large infrastructure programmes. The UK government has targeted the region as a priority for promoting UK expertise and this meeting represents a rare opportunity to benefit from the collective expertise of the locally based Department for International Trade country and regional leads, who have unique insights into the Infrastructure opportunities and networks emerging across these dynamic markets.
On the agenda will be the national and regional infrastructure opportunities in rail, roads, airports, mining, ports and other sectors. Financing for the projects is key and where appropriate there are opportunities for engagement with UK Export Finance. The importance of local partnerships, building UK and international consortia and how to maximise export opportunities for the wider UK supply chain will also be discussed.
