From being instrumental in triggering the First World War to the hole in the ozone layer, from the sophistication of F1 to being a blunt instrument of terrorism, the motor industry has played a significant role in Western society for over 100 years. Future technological changes will present new challenges to the sector, society and Government. In this talk Prof Saker will explore the forces at work and the issues that will need to be addressed.
Professor Jim Saker is the Director of the Centre for Automotive Management at Loughborough University. He has been involved with the automotive industry for more than 20 years and is often found in the Automotive Industry Power 100, a listing of the top most influential people in the sector.
