Speaker: Dr Eliza Filby, Lecturer in Modern British History, King’s College London
Born in the 1980’s or 1990’s, the Millennials are the demographic cohort that follow Generation X. While the characteristics of this cohort varies from region to region, the Millennials are generally referred to as a tech savvy generation with an increasingly liberal approach to politics and economics.
Projected to make up over a third of the global workforce by 2020, these digital natives are already having a tremendous impact on the business landscape. As Baby Boomers continue to retire and freshly graduated Millennials enter the job market, there will be an expected shift in work culture and norms as their priorities, as well as their definitions and measurements of success are different from their predecessors.
Dr Eliza Filby is a writer, broadcaster and academic specialising in contemporary values. Her current research project focuses on Millennials and the complex intergenerational landscape now dominating politics, work and the marketplace. Eliza also acts as a consultant, working with companies helping them to market and to manage Generations Y and Z.
An authoritative speaker on the Millennial generation, Dr Eliza Filby has lectured at the University of Warwick, King’s College London, and Remnin University Beijing.
