Speaker: Louis Taylor, Chief Executive, UK Export Finance
We are pleased to welcome Louis Taylor who was appointed the Chief Executive of UK Export Finance (UKEF), in October 2015. Louis is currently Chief Operating Officer, Group Treasury at Standard Chartered Bank. He has extensive experience in banking and business in the UK and overseas, including across Asia.
UKEF exists to ensure that no viable UK export fails for lack of finance or insurance, while operating at no net cost to the taxpayer.
As the UK’s export credit agency and a government department, UKEF complements, and does not compete, with the private sector by working with 70 private credit insurers and lenders to assist businesses:
- Win export contracts by providing attractive financing terms to their buyers
- Fulfil contracts by supporting working capital loans
- Get paid by insuring against buyer default
UKEF employs around 250 staff. With an HQ in London, their network of export finance managers is located across the UK who are designated as the first point of contact for guidance for UK exporters of all sizes and in all sectors.
This lunch will be an ideal opportunity to discuss the continually developing suite of UKEF support to UK businesses (and those seeking to purchase UK products and services) and to share with Louis your ideas on where and how further expansion in the product range will offer even greater value to the UK economy.
