We are thrilled to welcome Louis Taylor, Chief Executive of UK Export Finance (UKEF) to British Expertise International to deliver an update on UKEF’s plans, projects and their product range, and to answer questions on how the UK’s export credit agency can help you sell overseas.
UKEF’s mission is to ensure that no viable UK export fails for lack of finance or insurance from the private sector. It can help companies selling goods and services overseas win, fulfil and get paid for export contracts. And as the world’s first export credit agency established in 1919, UKEF has been innovating since day one, and continues to do so to support exporters in all sectors in the 21st century.
In 2015/16 UKEF provided £1.8 billion of finance and insurance support for UK exports in 69 countries.
Louis Taylor has been the Chief Executive since October 2015, and in his nine months in post, has been leading UKEF to play its part in the ambitious whole-of-government target of getting 100,000 new companies exporting by 2020.
Before joining UKEF, Louis held a range of senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank, including from 2013-15 as Chief Operating Officer of Group Treasury, based in London. Prior to that, he spent three years as the bank’s CEO for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, based in Ho Chi Minh City.
