The European Union's External Aid Programme, EuropeAid, is the second largest aid donor in the world. For the period 2104-20 it is budgeted to spend €77.3 billion, split as follows:

 - Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA II): Turkey, Western Balkans: €11.7b

 - European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI): €15.4b

 - Development & Cooperation Instrument (DCI): Asia & Latin America: €19.7b

 - European Development Fund (EDF): Africa, Caribbean & Pacific: €30.5b

In order to work for EuropeAid you need to understand how their procurement system, known as the Practical Guide or PRAG works. This is a unique standalone system that bears no relationship to any other system, including the EU's own Procurement Directive.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Benedetta Dentamaro, Unit R3 Legal Affairs, DG DEVCO to conduct a procurement workshop with a focus on the services section of the PRAG. The 2016 revision of the PRAG is now online and in force. After introducing the PRAG for those new to EuropeAid, Dr Dentamaro will then focus on the 2016 revision.

The plenary session will finish at c.1230. We are then offering an optional networking lunch followed by pre-booked individual meetings with Benedetta from 1300 through to 1600 of 20 minutes each. If you want to book an individual meeting please email Sue Watkins (sw@britishexpertise.org) after you have booked your place for the main meeting via this website.

We are also pleased to welcome Jan Soeltenfuss, Head of the UKREP EU Aid Funded Projects Section, who will also be available for pre-booked individual meetings (contact Sue as above to book these).
